A journey from Dallas

Mckenzie and her mother took a plane all the way out to Boston and then decided to take a road trip. I had to give them the "you came from the furthest to visit us" award. They were deeply appreciative, so I then proceeded to make Mckenzie some Fenghuang Shuixian and some Ceylon Silvertips. Our Fenghuang tastes so delicious, giving off peachy and apricot flavors! Our Ceylon Silvertips gives us a light hint of honey with sweet essences...

What a smooth day

This day really passed along smoothly. As soon as the sun poked out and the overcasty nature of the day went away, I knew we were in for a good one. There was some excitement, as the tea tasting room filled up at about 2:30 right as I was about to take the first bite of my sandwhich! We want it to be busy, always, especially during the economic hard time we are in.

It has been a pleasure working alongside Robert. We have our ups and downs but ultimately he knows what he's talking about. He's fascinated by tea and immerses himself into Michael Harney's Guide to Tea whenever he can. I'm fascinated by tea but equally fascinated by people. I guess that's what makes us different.

James Ferris from Great Barrington came in with his friends. He is such a joy to be around. This man has the same spry, youthful and jubilant spirit that I have. Whenever I'm around him I can't help but smile and laugh. We then proceed to talk about how our lives are unfolding over a pot of Japanese Sencha. He always comes away with a fat brick of Sencha. He tends to his bees, so he is all about honey and Sencha.

Honey and sencha can make one live for one hundred and fifty years, no less.

Lots of trash, broken lids, portraits

Emma, a young girl whose family used to be my neighbors until I moved, drew a portrait of me. I think she did a pretty good job, don't you? Rob seemed pretty excited when seeing my portrait. I broke a lid today, I'm sorry. It was hanging on the edge. I'm hanging on the edge too.

Tea parties at school have been going well. I plan on buying a few new teas for the club. I've been resisting funding from school because then they will implant their rules on us, screw that.

Cheers.

Harney tea club at Columbia Greene Community College

Good afternoon my friends! We have a new development going on here at the Columbia Greene Community College. I'm starting a tea club. Right by the front door of the school there are two picnic tables. We'll either be there or in the back of the Arts Building, where all the little chairs are to sit and study...

There are a few rules:

1)There is no talking about the tea club
2)Each new person that joins the group is unique and interesting. Basically, have love for your neighbor.
3)Everyone has to bring their own cup.
4)We steep only loose tea, no tea bags. (no tea bagging allowed)
5)Everyone has their turn to bring food. (crumpets, scones, muffins, donuts etc...)

Long, busy, and full of tips!

Good afternoon, or good evening depending on your time zone. Today was a great day although I felt like I really worked for my money. I actually got the biggest tip I've ever gotten since working at Harney and sons! I got 23 bucks from this cool group from Interlaken Inn. We got thoroughly buzzed on Yerba Mate and peppermint.

My friends Mike and John came to visit me from school.
There is Alex also throwing up his kitchen gang signs up, KITCHEN WHAT WHAT!!

On weekends, you can taste

Cheers.
Yo. Monday blues today, very very slow. Quite a few tasters who wanted a lot of attention and did not buy a lot of product. Two ounces of this, two ounces of that. Oh well, some days are like that.
